Today I will review Wishpond to find out if it’s worth your time and money. As an owner, I’m interested in learning more about this service and whether my business would benefit from a Wishpond subscription.
I will sign up for a free 14-day trial to test the functionality of the lead generation software. By the end of this article, you will have enough insight into Wishpond to jump into their pond and get swimming or sail to other marketing automation platform (software) shores.

Before we begin talking about features and how it can work for your business, you first need to decide how you want to use Wishpond software and automation.
If you feel confident in your technological capabilities, then I would suggest trying the “Do it Yourself” option which is cheaper and more interactive. For all you non-techies out there with larger businesses to manage, rejoice! Wishpond also provides a “Done for You” option that might be a better solution for you.
The “Do it Yourself” package gives you access to Wishpond’s all-in-one suite of marketing tools to create a custom-tailored marketing campaign for your business. This option puts you in the driver seat, giving you the ability to create a landing page, contests, email marketing templates, and more using their software.
For those who are scratching their heads wondering how they would create, execute, and manage a marketing campaign on their own, you might want to check out the “Done for You” choice which will assign a team of marketing professionals to your business to do it for you. They will create and execute a complete marketing campaign to generate leads (lead generation) and sales for your business. So basically, it’s like hiring a local digital marketing agency to manage your online marketing.

As I have found with most technical offerings, you start with a baseline package and add up from there in both price and benefits included. For my business, I would start with the “Starting Out” $49 option to give Wishpond a try. As you can see, each package offers a free trial for 14 days so let’s give it a whirl. Now, onto our grand experiment; let’s check out the products available and how it can work for my writing business, KSW Content. I’ll first give a brief overview of the Wishpond product, and then I’ll use my business to see how it looks in action. The products I’ll take for a test drive are:

A landing page is a single web page with a purpose. When you, “land” on one by clicking a link from an ad, email, or website, you’ll notice there are no navigation toolbars at the top of the screen, nor is there any other information to distract you from the purpose of that landing page.

Is this company doing this out of the goodness of their hearts? No! They are marketers in search of your information to begin a, hopefully, lifetime courtship that involves them telling you things and you giving them money for their products and/or services in return. That’s marketing!
So, as a content writer, let’s say I want to create a landing page via the landing page builder to find customers in need of website narrative. Using my free trial on Wishpond, here is what I created (with limited technical ability, I might add):
Now, this is a full shot of how my landing page appears on the screen to give you an idea of the scope of the layout on a laptop screen.
Notice the professional backdrop setting of the desk and computer, the attractive colors, text size, and design, and the convenient form on the bottom. This took minutes to create and was honestly fun to do. I am a writer and marketer, not an IT professional by any means, and I didn’t have a single issue creating this page.

The goal of this landing page is to gather information about potential customers. By submitting their name and email address shows me they are interested in my brand. The message feature is fantastic because now my potential client has the option of starting a conversation with me, which is a marketer’s dream, because by asking that question that is signaling to me that they are genuinely interested in what I have to offer. You can even add multiple-choice questions if you would like.

I don’t love this, and if I had more time to spend tinkering with it, I’m sure I could fix it, but it’s not bad! I would want to center the image and expand the text, but I do like the option of having a thank you page, and how the professional background of it correlates to the landing page. I would give this a solid B+ for a grade, and again, if I had the time, I believe I could make it better using Wishpond.

The Contest and Promotions feature on Wishpond will help generate more buzz about your brand online by inviting both loyal followers and potential customers to “enter to win!” something they perceive as valuable.
Here are just some of the options for creating a contest or promotion using Wishpond:

I love how easy Wishpond is to use! And this is coming from someone who is getting nothing in return for saying that; I’m just a writer reviewing a service. So far, I’m really impressed.
Wishpond’s Referral Suite products offer a variety of lead-capturing and lead generation options including a bonus entry contest, referral link sharing, and coming soon, leaderboard and waitlist possibilities.
These features will help your already loyal customers invite others into a relationship with your brand by rewarding them for promoting your brand. For example, you can award content entrants with bonus points with they take certain actions, like sharing your website on social media (social promotion available on all the social media networks).
We’ve all seen pop-up ads; they want us to enter our information to receive something in return. Wishpond’s Website Popups product allows you to create popups, welcome mats, slide-in popups and opt-in bars for your content marketing strategy.

I think it’s funny that I’m about to create a website popup seeing I can’t stand seeing these on the websites I visit. Let’s see if I can beat my 4-minute time!
This one took a bit more time, but I like the result! If I wanted to be super picky, there are a few things I would change and spend more time on, but for a quick 5-minute draft it looks fine.
If you know how to edit text in a text box, you can create this too. It’s that easy.

The lesson learned from this exercise is that even the non-technical owner can make it happen with a little time and patience. If nothing else, sign up for a free trial to give it a whirl yourself, what do you have to lose?

While some businesses can afford to hire a digital marketing agency to create custom email templates, that’s not in my budget right now.
So far, I’m impressed with the template selection offered by Wishpond:

If you are considering this service, I highly recommend signing up for the free trial. I only signed up to use the free 14-day trial for writing this piece, but I think this test drive may have convinced to buy a subscription.
1. Wishpond is easy to use
I am by no means an IT professional. In fact, I have quite the learning curve when it comes to most new-to-me software experiences; but not with Wishpond. I commented several times during the piece how quickly I could create things like pop-up ads and landing pages, and it really could not be easier! I enjoyed it too. Before my trial ends, I plan on creating more pages and ads for fun. What’s more, the built-in Wishpond support staff (customer service and customer support) are both friendly and helpful (if you need them).
2. Wishpond makes me look good
Let’s be honest; as owners we want our brand to look good without spending thousands of dollars to make it happen. Wishpond can do just that! For $50 a month I can create the illusion of having a marketing team supporting my website when really it’s just me on my laptop having fun customizing the colors and text of my next ad campaign.
3. My online storefront needs help
No matter what you do for a living, you need a marketing plan to tell the world about it. In a Google-searching, Facebook-liking, Insta-world in which we live, our customers and potential new clients are looking for us online and social media to see what we offer. If your clients saw your online storefront right now, what would they think? Are you proud of it or could it use a new landing page or professional-looking pop-up advertisement?
