Wishpond is a marketing platform for generating, managing and nurturing leads.
This platform includes tools to help even the most non-technical owner create landing pages, online forms, and the like; and its software helps analyze the data behind each digital marketing endeavor to gauge the effectiveness of each campaign.
That all sounds great but is it right for your business?
Today I will review Wishpond to find out if it’s worth your time and money. As an owner, I’m interested in learning more about this service and whether my business would benefit from a Wishpond subscription.
I will sign up for a free 14-day trial to test the functionality of the software. By the end of this article, you will have enough insight into Wishpond to jump into their pond and get swimming or sail to other software shores.
Does that sound good? Let’s get started!
The purpose of using any marketing lead generation software like Wishpond is to gain better insight into your audience and how they interact with your brand online. The software helps you create marketing assets that will help tell the world about your business, and it will give you the data required to reach out to your audience in a thoughtful, engaging way.
Here it is in action:

Before we begin talking about features and how it can work for your business, you first need to decide how you want to use Wishpond.
If you feel confident in your technological capabilities, then I would suggest trying the “Do it Yourself” option which is cheaper and more interactive. For all you non-techies out there with larger businesses to manage, rejoice! Wishpond also provides a “Done for You” option that might be a better solution for you.
The “Do it Yourself” package gives you access to Wishpond’s all-in-one suite of marketing tools to create a custom-tailored marketing campaign for your business. This option puts you in the driver seat, giving you the ability to create landing pages, contests, email marketing templates, and more using their software.
For those who are scratching their heads wondering how they would create, execute, and manage a marketing campaign on their own, you might want to check out the “Done for You” choice which will assign a team of marketing professionals to your business to do it for you. They will create and execute a complete marketing campaign to generate leads and sales for your business. So basically, it’s like hiring a local digital marketing agency to manage your online marketing.
Wishpond may be spectacular, but if it doesn’t play nice with other apps, who cares? Thankfully, Wishpond offers over 300 integrations including email, analytics, sales, payments, and collaboration apps, so it’s easy to use with your existing marketing strategy.
Here are the more popular ones my Tech Troop say matters the most:
Before I start outlining the features of Wishpond, let’s estimate the cost for your business. Here is their current price structure for the “Do It Yourself” plan:
As I have found with most technical offerings, you start with a baseline package and add up from there in both price and benefits included. For my business, I would start with the “Starting Out” $49 option to give Wishpond a try. As you can see, each package offers a free trial for 14 days so let’s give it a whirl. I’ll be your guinea pig. You’re welcome.
For the people interested in the “Done for You” plan, you must request a demo to obtain an estimate. If you want to book a demo, click here.
Now, onto our grand experiment; let’s check out the products available and how it can work for my writing business, KSW Content. I’ll first give a brief overview of the Wishpond product, and then I’ll use my business to see how it looks in action. The products I’ll take for a test drive are:
A landing page is a single web page with a purpose. When you, “land” on one by clicking a link from an ad, email, or website, you’ll notice there are no navigation toolbars at the top of the screen, nor is there any other information to distract you from the purpose of that page.
The only purpose of this page is to convince you to enter your information to get a free tea sample.
Is this company doing this out of the goodness of their hearts? No! They are marketers in search of your information to begin a, hopefully, lifetime courtship that involves them telling you things and you giving them money for their products and/or services in return. That’s marketing!
So, as a content writer, let’s say I want to create a landing page to find customers in need of website narrative. Using my free trial on Wishpond, here is what I created (with limited technical ability, I might add):
Now, this is a full shot of how my landing page appears on the screen to give you an idea of the scope of the layout on a laptop screen. Notice the professional backdrop setting of the desk and computer, the attractive colors, text size, and design, and the convenient form on the bottom. This took minutes to create and was honestly fun to do. I am a writer and marketer, not an IT professional by any means, and I didn’t have a single issue creating this page.
Here’s a closer shot of the content for all of you that can’t read ridiculously tiny print:
The goal of this landing page is to gather information about potential customers. By submitting their name and email address shows me they are interested in my brand. The message feature is fantastic because now my potential client has the option of starting a conversation with me, which is a marketer’s dream, because by asking that question that is signaling to me that they are genuinely interested in what I have to offer.
After they submit the form on this landing page, a thank you screen appears:
I don’t love this, and if I had more time to spend tinkering with it, I’m sure I could fix it, but it’s not bad! I would want to center the image and expand the text, but I do like the option of having a thank you page, and how the professional background of it correlates to the landing page. I would give this a solid B+ for a grade, and again, if I had the time, I believe I could make it better using Wishpond.
I also should add about landing pages that Wishpond offers a wide variety of templates. Here are just a few examples:
You can also create your own from a blank template. You see the one I chose is in the bottom right of the screenshot above. Aside from this sampling, there are many more to choose from, and you have the option of importing your own.
The Contest and Promotions feature on Wishpond will help generate more buzz about your brand online by inviting both loyal followers and potential customers to “enter to win!” something they perceive as valuable.
Here are just some of the options for creating a contest or promotion using Wishpond:
To illustrate this product, I’ll choose the sweepstakes template. This took me 4 minutes to build:
I love how easy Wishpond is to use! And this is coming from someone who is getting nothing in return for saying that; I’m just a writer reviewing a service. So far, I’m really impressed.
Wishpond’s Referral Suite products offer a variety of lead-capturing options including a bonus entry contest, referral link sharing, and coming soon, leaderboard and waitlist possibilities.
These features will help your already loyal customers invite others into a relationship with your brand by rewarding them for promoting your brand. For example, you can award content entrants with bonus points with they take certain actions, like sharing your website on social media:
We’ve all seen pop-up ads; they want us to enter our information to receive something in return. Wishpond’s Website Popups product allows you to create popups, welcome mats, slide-in popups and opt-in bars for your content marketing strategy.
Here are some of the templates Wishpond offers for popup creation:
I think it’s funny that I’m about to create a website popup seeing I can’t stand seeing these on the websites I visit. Let’s see if I can beat my 4-minute time!
This one took a bit more time, but I like the result! If I wanted to be super picky, there are a few things I would change and spend more time on, but for a quick 5-minute draft it looks fine.
If you know how to edit text in a text box, you can create this too. It’s that easy.
Here are the opt-in bar and welcome mat I created in seconds using Wishpond:
Creating these I learned you could customize the color, background, text size and style and other things to reflect my style and brand.
For those that want complete customization, let’s try creating a slide-in popup using a blank template.
This is our starting point:
I want it to reflect the green colors of my brand and include my logo. For a call to action, I’ll choose a free content marketing consultation.
Short and sweet, here it is:
The lesson learned from this exercise is that even the non-technical owner can make it happen with a little time and patience. If nothing else, sign up for a free trial to give it a whirl yourself, what do you have to lose?
It’s easy to say Wishpond helps you gather and manage leads, but what does that even mean?
The term “leads” in this regard means actual living, breathing human beings that may be, or potentially be, your customer. How do you get to know them? By obtaining their information so you can properly introduce yourself and explain why they should love you. That’s how marketing works!
So, to make that gathering of intel easier on you, you first need a place to put it which brings us to the Online Forms offered by Wishpond. They look like this:
Wishpond offers over a dozen mobile-responsive form templates to help you gather valuable customer information. Using a drag and drop builder, you can build your online forms without any coding experience and create custom fields to collect the information you want.
Wishpond also allows you to create test variations of your form, otherwise known as A/B testing (which means—which version converted more? A or B?), so you can find out which online form works best. Wishpond calculates the data you need to see how it’s working, and you decide how many variations you want. It’s that simple!
You can publish your form anywhere by copying and pasting the Wishpond code to embed the form online.
Here are some of the available templates:
I chose a simple, clear form to create for an event I might hold as a content marketer. Straight and to the point, this would appear on my website next to the information about the event to gather the data I need to reach out to people attending the conference.
One thing to note about Wishpond: I love how it allows me to customize my color and text. So often these online templates have limited options regarding how I can format the “look” of my brand online, so it jives with my website. I love how Wishpond makes it so easy to create looks that reflect my business.
Wishpond’s marketing automation makes marketing your business easier so you can spend more time closing deals and less time sending emails and other marketing materials to your potential and current customers.
Here’s how it works:
See how that works? You no longer need to guess when it comes to your marketing analytics—you know who is engaging with your brand, and which prospect is a waste of time! Marketing automation allows you to send the right email to the right audience at the ideal time.
Using marketing automation, you can forward leads to your team in real-time so that one customer inquiry at 9 a.m. can turn into a closed sale by 10 a.m.
Wishpond has a long list of integrations so the good news is if you have an app that is working for you already, you can easily add Wishpond in, and it will automate the actions for you.
Email Marketing is the product I think would be most beneficial for my business so I’m excited to learn more about what Wishpond has to offer.
We all get tons of email marketing newsletters, and since they are such a popular way for businesses to communicate, we need to make sure to create one that stands out from the crowd. While some businesses can afford to hire a digital marketing agency to create custom email templates, that’s not in my budget right now.
So far, I’m impressed with the template selection offered by Wishpond:
Again, Wishpond uses a drag-and-drop builder so you can design your email without using HTML which is huge for someone likes me who doesn’t know how to code. The email templates are automatically mobile-optimized, so you don’t have to design them twice.
With Wishpond’s email editor, it’s easy to create and send email newsletters to tell your audience about the latest news happening in your business.
There is also a “call to action” button so they can be directed to one of the landing pages you created using Wishpond that has the form you also designed to gather their information. See how that works?
If you are unsure which approach works best, send out several variations of the same email to test your marketing strategy. Wishpond runs the tests for you delivering real-time analytics to your campaign dashboard for review.
Wishpond’s Email Marketing also features an “email drip option” which allows you to create a queue of emails to send out automatically based on the actions your visitors take and based on which campaigns created the most conversions for them.
It’s terrific that your website and marketing campaigns have created enough interest in your brand that people are freely giving you their information. Now, what do you do with it?
Wishpond’s Lead Database can help you create segments of your leads based on their activity on your website, and the marketing initiatives they have responded to help you convert that interest into sales.
Here’s how it works:
Wishpond’s visitor tracking technology will tell you which pages your leads are viewing and more importantly, which pages convince them to buy what you’re selling. You can use this information to customize both your marketing messages and sales approach when managing and growing your relationship with them.
What I think is great about this product is the ability to see what your leads are doing in real-time. You can quickly see what your client is caring about right now and use that information to close that next deal.
Wishpond’s Lead Management system allows you to create specific segments of your leads based on specific properties or actions. These could be segmented by location, by sales history, or possible conversions based on products. Using Wishpond’s list analytics, you control how your data is presented so it works best for you and your team.
What owner doesn’t love marketing automation? Using tools like Wishpond’s Leads Database can help you create customized messages based on predetermined lists and objectives to increase the chance of people buying what you sell through thoughtful email campaigns.
If you are considering this service, I highly recommend signing up for the free trial. I only signed up to use the free 14-day trial for writing this piece, but I think this test drive may have convinced to buy a subscription.
1. Wishpond is easy to use
I am by no means an IT professional. In fact, I have quite the learning curve when it comes to most new-to-me software experiences; but not with Wishpond. I commented several times during the piece how quickly I could create things like pop-up ads and landing pages, and it really could not be easier! I enjoyed it too. Before my trial ends, I plan on creating more pages and ads for fun.
2. Wishpond makes me look good
Let’s be honest; as owners we want our brand to look good without spending thousands of dollars to make it happen. Wishpond can do just that! For $50 a month I can create the illusion of having a marketing team supporting my website when really it’s just me on my laptop having fun customizing the colors and text of my next ad campaign.
3. My online storefront needs help
No matter what you do for a living, you need a marketing plan to tell the world about it. In a Google-searching, Facebook-liking, Insta-world in which we live, our customers and potential new clients are looking for us online and social media to see what we offer. If your clients saw your online storefront right now, what would they think? Are you proud of it or could it use a new landing page or professional-looking pop-up advertisement? Wishpond will help elevate your marketing game so you look like a million bucks, even if you’re only spending $50 a month to create that image.
4. Wishpond will help manage my leads
Like most business owners, I want to spend my time writing, not micro-managing my leads. Wishpond will help me manage my current clients and help me identify potential ones through their lead management system. I love the marketing automation option that will allow me to customize a marketing plan without micromanaging the information.
I hope this helped you decide whether Wishpond is right for your business. To sign up for your free trial visit Wishpond’s pricing page for more information. Let me know how you like it in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
