It’s broadest client base is in the US, Brazil, Canada, India, and the UK. Some of Wishpond’s bigger-named clients include CBS, Fairmont Hotels, Panasonic, Sony, Unicef, Walmart, and The Weather Network. If it’s good enough for these giants, there’s an excellent chance Wishpond is onto something exciting.

HubSpot’s homepage describes itself as a “solution to help you grow” whether “you want to increase leads, accelerate sales, organize your contacts, or better serve your customers.”  

So, as you may have already gathered, Hubspot’s software helps you with tasks relating to sales, customer service, and marketing, with the general aim of growing your business.  

Founded in 2006 by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah, its headquarters are in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In terms of numbers, Hubspot offers more than 250 integrations, boasts 7 million monthly visitors to its blog, over 5,000 registered profiles, and more than 150 Hubspot user groups. 

To date, Hubspot has over 68,000 customers in more than 100 countries. Some of their more notable clients include the likes of Wistia, Doordash, G2Crowd, Purple, and Subaru.

HubSpot Reporting 

For $200 a month, you can increase the number of custom dashboards you have to 200 and generate up to 2,000 customized reports. That figure is split into a maximum of 200 reports per account, spread across any of the three Hubs and HubSpot CRM.   

The price doesn’t include taxes, and HubSpot says fees are subject to increase “with additional purchases.” 

HubSpot Ads 

For an extra $100 a month, you can increase the amount you spend on ads up to $50k, have 50 additional ad audiences and hourly audience syncing. Again, the price doesn’t include taxes, and HubSpot says that fees are subject to increase “with additional purchases.” 

HubSpot Dedicated IP 

HubSpot says that its shared IP addresses have “consistently high email deliverability ratings.” For an extra $500 a month, you can buy your own dedicated IP address to increase the chances of email deliverability and gain greater control over what HubSpot calls “your individual sender reputation.”  

Again, the price doesn’t include taxes, and HubSpot says the same about fee increases. 

On top of these add-ons, you can also buy HubSpot’s Premium Services. This is a consulting service with prices starting at $350 a month and goes up to $1,200 a month.  

  • $350 a month gets you monthly sessions with an inbound consultant on your sales and marketing strategy 
  • $650 a month entitles you to the same as above and up to five hours of support each month with a technical consultant.
  • $1,200 a month gets you five hours per month with both a technical consultant and an inbound consultant 

Wishpond’s Pros and Cons 

Let’s start with the perks.

The Cons: 

  • There are multiple onboarding fees. These vary extensively depending upon which plans you choose. These are covered in the HubSpot prices section.   
  • Some users report that it’s hard to use 
  • There isn’t an A/B testing tool in their basic package 
  • You have to spend lots of money to get everything you need 
  • It’s an overly complicated pricing structure that takes a long time to wade through
  • An unwieldy website not written for the uninitiated end-user  
  • Little support for free users 

Wishpond Integrations 

Wishpond has more than 300 integrations. For example, it integrates with Shopify, which makes adding popups to your Shopify store a breeze. 

It also integrates with a range of tools across categories other than eCommerce, including CRM, live chat, greetings card, analytics & connections Integrations, email marketing, surveys, help desk, webinars, team chat, and Phones & SMS Apps.

Their App Marketplace has hundreds of third-party tools that businesses can use and integrate with their HubSpot accounts. Popular apps include Slack, Wordpress, Zapier, Plecto, and OfficeRnD. According to HubSpot’s Company News page, the key features of App Marketplace are:  

  • More informed integration decisions. By asking all partners to give pricing information, demo videos, and data flow structures, HubSpot is hoping that its customers will have more information before deciding on which apps to integrate with.   
  • Apps are easier to find and are more relevant because HubSpot has improved the search filtering functionality in its App Marketplace.

So, as you can imagine, this resource is pretty easy to navigate.  

For basic Wishpond support, there’s a section covering day-to-day problems like hot: “Delete A Lead,” and “Embed on a Website or Blog.”  

There’s also a popup chat box for queries. Wishpond promises to respond within 3 hours, or you can send them an email.  

There’s a Resource Center, too, featuring a Blog covering useful topics such as “5 useful Ways to Get More Conversions & Sales From Your Blog,” The Complete Guide to Local SEO,” and “How to Leverage eCommerce Consumer Reviews For Higher Conversions in 2020.”  

The Wishpond free Resource Center also offers marketing ebooks, infographics, and webinars. As well as strategies for marketing, email drip campaigns, landing pages, and lead generation. There’s also a free Shopify Pop Up Builder App and a free WordPress Popup Builder App you can access.  

HubSpot Support 

You can reach HubSpot via a contact button on its website, which takes you to its Knowledge Base. Here you can type in your questions and hopefully find the answers you need.  

Unfortunately, only paying customers get to access technical phone and email support. If you’re a free user, you’re directed to the HubSpot Community to find the solutions to your problems. Free customers can also submit an email ticket, and HubSpot tries to respond within a day.   

There’s also a Resource Center where you can link up (for free) with HubSpot Agency and Consultant partners. There are also local user groups you can join for more community support. 

What Do The Reviews Say about Wishpond vs Hubspot?

As far as Wishpond is concerned, its own website carries an impressive array of success stories (as it’s bound to do). Its case study section is helpful partly because it gives statistics on real campaign results, but also because there are plenty of companies and industries to choose from. 

Generally, review sites give Wishpool the thumbs up, with high user satisfaction ratings. Particular praise was given for their excellent customer support, good value for money, and user-friendly features and functionality.  

If users do complain, it tends to be about the prices as they increase as you scale up your marketing needs.  

As for HubSpot users, they like the support they receive and find that HubSpot is easy to use, as well as being good value for money. Reviewers also report that its features and functionality are also easy to use. It generally scores a 4 or 5-star rating too.  

If users do complain, it’s about heavy sales tactics, “shoddy reporting tools,” broken eCommerce bridges, and that it’s glorified spambot. None of these sounds too complimentary…

HubSpot vs Wishpond: Which one to choose?  

HubSpot offers complete marketing, sales, and CRM package. Still, it comes with a hefty price tag if you want to access their more sophisticated features.  

Given HubSpot’s website is harder to navigate (even once you get past the sales promises), it’s worth defining what you want before leaping into a long contract with them.  

Wishpond’s offer seems to be reliable, bearing fruit for many of its customers. We liked that we could see evidence of campaign success on its site and think HubSpot could learn a trick or two from its competitors in that regard.  

Bottom Line: If you need a full fledged CRM system then Hubspot is still best in class. However, if you want a more flexible, approachable and cost-effective sales automation platform, I’m going with Wishpond here.

Before purchasing either platform, we recommend doing your own research by signing up for whatever free trial or demo they have on offer.  

Ultimately, it’s up to you which platform you choose. Both provide reasonable marketing solutions, but being clear at the outset about what your business needs are (both now and in the future) is really important. Set your customer targets first, then find the right solution to help you achieve those goals.
