I’ve personally used a few of these for my own online businesses and I truly believe it’s the ideal solution if you’re forming an LLC, but you don’t want to give up the flexibility of working remotely. It gives you a ‘home base’ without having to be fixed in an office full-time.

Here are a few key features I’d recommend looking for:

Business Address

Of course, when you’re setting up an LLC, you’ll need a business address. This is where virtual address services really come into their own!

You should be able to apply for a business address that you can use on any paperwork regarding your LLC, and not just a PO Box extension.

You can also use your business address for marketing materials, which saves your privacy and is generally useful for accounting purposes.

Post Forwarding

Virtual address services will offer you some way of collecting your mail (virtual mail): collecting in person, having it forwarded to you, or in some cases, even scanning it and emailing it to you.

This is useful and will save you time, but it’s worth watching out for extra charges on mail forwarding service fees.

Phone Number

You can also apply for a business phone number. This means callers can use this number to contact you, saving you from handing out your personal phone number.

This phone number can be used on paperwork, too.

Here are five of my favorite virtual address services. I’ve focused on those that offer the basic needs for an LLC (a business address), but I’ve also looked at extra tools that you might find helpful, including their phone services. I’ll also give you a rundown of the pricing.

Alliance Virtual Offices offers a business address, live receptionist services, and meeting rooms/coworking spaces across the globe.

Their virtual office services are excellent: you can easily register for a business address, and for an extra charge, you can sign up for a virtual phone number, which is a great way to protect your privacy.

Their live receptionist service is brilliant if your team works remotely. It will give your customers a friendly person to talk to, and they’ll divert calls to the right place for you. This is ideal if you want to capture leads without giving out your personal phone number to potential new clients.

They have offices in 44 different countries, and booking a meeting room or coworking space is the same no matter where you are in the world, which makes it much easier if you often have to travel for meetings and need a virtual office service in different locations.

The customer service is excellent, and the staff on-site are friendly and helpful, so if you do use their meeting rooms, you can expect good service if you need help. I think the customer service really sets Alliance apart from the rest.

The downside is that their contracts start at six months, so it’s not as flexible as some of the others on this list, and the setup fee may be slightly cost-prohibitive.

Pricing for Alliance Virtual Offices varies, but you will have to pay a setup fee for their virtual office plans at around $150-200. Pricing for their basic plan is around $50-$100.

Regus: Best for Flexibility

Regus offers physical offices for rent across the globe, coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and virtual office services.

Their virtual office services are great for LLCs. You can apply for a professional business address and phone number, and for an extra charge, go for mail forwarding and call handling, too.

You might not need these extra services, but you can update your plan at any time as your business grows. Plans start from one month, and you can switch addresses if you have to move your business at any stage. This is great if you want to get your business off the ground but you plan to move in the future.

In fact, the flexibility offered by Regus is pretty good, especially as some of the other virtual office services on this list have a minimum of six or twelve-month plans.

They have locations across the globe, too, so you can book meetings in other countries using the same platform. I think this is a really good option if you’re just starting out.

The downside is that their pricing is slightly more expensive than some of the others on this list for comparable services. If you just want a business address, there are cheaper options to choose from.

Pricing varies for Regus if you want to use their meeting rooms, but there are three plans available for their virtual office services:

It’s a pretty simple process to sign up, and once you’re registered, you can start accessing any mail sent to that address. iPostal 1 photographs the outside of your mail, and you can choose online what to do with it: you can have it forwarded, ask for it to be scanned, schedule a pick-up, discard it, or shred it.

This is a great time-saver if you expect to get a lot of mail. Even if you don’t, however, you can use this address to create an LLC, and the cost is pretty reasonable, so it’s ideal for those on a smaller budget. I’d recommend this if you’re trying to cut down on costs.

Upgrading to their Virtual Business Address Plus plan offers local or toll-free phone and fax and call forwarding/voicemail. You might not need this, but you can upgrade at any time if you decide you need it later.

However, there is one thing to keep an eye out for: there are extra charges incurred for forwarding and, crucially, for pick-ups. So while the price is low for just an address to form an LLC, if you do plan to use their mail services often, you’ll need to factor that into the price.

They have a wide range of extra features, including a call-out feature (this shows your business number instead of your personal number if you need to make an outgoing call), texting, call recording, and international call transfers. I’d recommend checking out their extra features, as you might find some of them to be really useful.

The downside is that they have one price plan, from $99 per month, which makes it pricey compared to some of the others on this list. If you just want a business address and nothing else, this might not be the best option for you.

Their plans vary, and extra services include hourly access to conference rooms and offices, a dedicated phone number, call greeting, screening and transferring, voicemail, voicemail-to-email transferring, mail forwarding, and more.

They offer a range of add-ons, too, including on-site filing cabinets and additional phone numbers. These are flexible, and you can add as many as you need to your plan. The staff are friendly and helpful, too, which I think is really important!

The downside is that some of the offices are a little dated.
