The problem with forming an LLC is the fact that you need a fixed business address. If you work remotely or you’re running a business while traveling, it seems like a big obstacle right off the bat.

I’ve personally used a few of these for my own online businesses and I truly believe it’s the ideal solution if you’re forming an LLC, but you don’t want to give up the flexibility of working remotely. There are a few of these to pick from, with many extra features that you may (or may not!) find useful. Here are five that I specifically recommend for LLCs in particular.

You should be able to apply for a business address that you can use on any paperwork regarding your LLC, and not just a PO Box extension.

You can also use your business address for marketing materials, which saves your privacy and is generally useful for accounting purposes.

Post Forwarding

Virtual address services will offer you some way of collecting your mail (virtual mail): collecting in person, having it forwarded to you, or in some cases, even scanning it and emailing it to you.

This is useful and will save you time, but it’s worth watching out for extra charges on mail forwarding service fees.

Their virtual office services are excellent: you can easily register for a business address, and for an extra charge, you can sign up for a virtual phone number, which is a great way to protect your privacy.

Their live receptionist service is brilliant if your team works remotely. It will give your customers a friendly person to talk to, and they’ll divert calls to the right place for you. This is ideal if you want to capture leads without giving out your personal phone number to potential new clients.

They have offices in 44 different countries, and booking a meeting room or coworking space is the same no matter where you are in the world, which makes it much easier if you often have to travel for meetings and need a virtual office service in different locations.

The customer service is excellent, and the staff on-site are friendly and helpful, so if you do use their meeting rooms, you can expect good service if you need help. I think the customer service really sets Alliance apart from the rest.

The downside is that their contracts start at six months, so it’s not as flexible as some of the others on this list, and the setup fee may be slightly cost-prohibitive.

Their virtual office services are great for LLCs. You can apply for a professional business address and phone number, and for an extra charge, go for mail forwarding and call handling, too.

You might not need these extra services, but you can update your plan at any time as your business grows. Plans start from one month, and you can switch addresses if you have to move your business at any stage. This is great if you want to get your business off the ground but you plan to move in the future.

In fact, the flexibility offered by Regus is pretty good, especially as some of the other virtual office services on this list have a minimum of six or twelve-month plans.

They have locations across the globe, too, so you can book meetings in other countries using the same platform. I think this is a really good option if you’re just starting out.

The downside is that their pricing is slightly more expensive than some of the others on this list for comparable services. If you just want a business address, there are cheaper options to choose from.

It’s a pretty simple process to sign up, and once you’re registered, you can start accessing any mail sent to that address. iPostal 1 photographs the outside of your mail, and you can choose online what to do with it: you can have it forwarded, ask for it to be scanned, schedule a pick-up, discard it, or shred it.

This is a great time-saver if you expect to get a lot of mail. Even if you don’t, however, you can use this address to create an LLC, and the cost is pretty reasonable, so it’s ideal for those on a smaller budget. I’d recommend this if you’re trying to cut down on costs.

Upgrading to their Virtual Business Address Plus plan offers local or toll-free phone and fax and call forwarding/voicemail. You might not need this, but you can upgrade at any time if you decide you need it later.

However, there is one thing to keep an eye out for: there are extra charges incurred for forwarding and, crucially, for pick-ups. So while the price is low for just an address to form an LLC, if you do plan to use their mail services often, you’ll need to factor that into the price.
