If you have run into issues with Fresha’s layout, limited marketing tools, or pricing structure, there are a lot of alternatives that can be a better fit for your business. Finding the right one for you can be a challenge, so I’ve broken down some of the top Fresha Alternatives for you here!
Quick Picks: The Best Fresha Alternatives
- GlossGenius: Best for building a website or inventory management
- Goldie: Best for social media support
- Mindbody: Best for customer-facing marketplace to promote your business, staff management, and business reporting
- Vagaro: Best for a salon marketplace and user interface
- Boulevard: Best for staff management, calendars, client management, and reports
Top Fresha Alternatives
Here’s a closer look at each of these Fresha alternatives, including where each one stands out and what kind of business it may be best for.
Boulevard was built for real stylists, salon, and spa owners. It handles booking, checkout, and smart scheduling the way busy salons actually work. It even handles marketing, from rebooking reminders to targeted emails and texts, plus it fills open spots with waitlist requests, without the scrambling.
Fresha Alternative #1: GlossGenius
Best for: Branded booking websites and inventory tools / Price: $24-148 per month

Pros:
- Let’s you build a website from scratch
- Has good inventory management features
- Clean, user-friendly interface
Cons:
- Expensive for beginners
- No built-in marketplace like Fresha
Fresha might have some cool features, but building out a new website isn’t one of them.
If you are just starting out and need a website builder, GlossGenius is a good alternative. It also make it easy to manage staff, clients, calendars, inventory, and financing. But one of its biggest draws is the ability to create your own website, and from there, integrate calendar functions, add clients, and so forth.
Fresha does offer some options for team management and report generation, but GlossGenius may be a better fit for businesses that want a more polished website-building experience. If you are a growing business that plans to sell products like lotions, haircare, or other retail items, having strong inventory tools built into your software can make a big difference.
GlossGenius is a solid option for businesses looking to improve inventory management while also creating a more branded presence online.

Fresha Alternative #2: Goldie
Best for: Social media support and affordable marketing tools / Price: $20-$40 per month

Pros:
- Great AI social media support
- Inexpensive for beginners
Cons:
- Clunky UI
- Not as many features as alternatives
If you don’t have a knack for social media, or just don’t have the time for it, Goldie is a solid Fresha alternative to consider. Fresha does offer marketing tools like reminders and blast campaigns, but Goldie puts more emphasis on helping newer or growing businesses promote themselves more actively online.
So if you want to save money on social media support and marketing, you are new to business, or you are trying to attract new clients as well, Goldie can be a good fit.
Goldie’s bread and butter, as far as marketing is concerned, is its social media support. It offers social media templates, mass messages, and AI-powered post tools that can help you create content for your online booking site and social channels.
The AI social media post generator is one of the cooler tools. You can upload a photo, generate a caption, and create content for platforms like Facebook and Instagram with less hands-on effort.
Fresha Alternative #3: MindBody
Best for: Customer-facing marketplace to promote your business, staff management, and business reporting / Price: $100-$600

Pros:
- Customer-face marketplace
- Lots of staff management tools
- Strong business reporting
Cons:
- Better for health and wellness businesses than traditional salons and barbershops
- Can get expensive for multi-location businesses
Fresha does have a marketplace for customers searching for services, but it’s not the best option if your main goal is bringing in new business. And while Fresha can help you get found, it also charges a one-time 20 percent commission on any new client who books through its marketplace.
If that is an issue for you, go with MindBody. MindBody is an impressive alternative for health and fitness companies in particular, with a platform that lets you use creative measures for increasing and retaining new clients while also increasing your revenue.
One of the bigger draws here is the ClassPass connection. Because ClassPass is part of the MindBody ecosystem, it can help you put your business in front of new customers and fill open spots in your schedule. That is especially useful for fitness and wellness businesses, but some salons and spas may also benefit from the extra exposure depending on the services they offer.
Mindbody also offers tools like “deals” and “last-minute offers,” both of which can help you fill a gap in your schedule. Maybe you are an esthetician and you have a 3-hour gap in the middle of the day; using MindBody, you could offer a last-minute deal at a slight discount.
That marketplace isn’t the only reason why Mindbody is a good alternative to Fresha. It also has very good staff management options and business reporting, which can make a big different for larger businesses. Fresha has basic timesheets and calendars, but it’s limited in any other capacity. If you are managing multiple employees or several locations, Mindbody gives you more control over permissions, payroll, performance tracking, and reporting.

Fresha Alternative#4: Vagaro
Best for: Marketplace exposure and easier user interface / Price: $24-$90

Pros:
- Customer-facing marketplace to list your business
- Inexpensive for beginners
- Scalable pricing
- Easy-to-use interface
Cons:
- Reporting may not feel as robust as some alternatives
- Limited marketing options beyond the marketplace posting
If you do hair or nails and the MindBody marketplace doesn’t work well for you, you can try Vagaro. Their marketplace includes features like Daily Deals, which is a comparable way to schedule openings during your shift. Vagaro also offers Live Stream as an add-on, which gives you an opportunity to offer virtual classes or consulations.
I really like the idea of a live stream class. If you are particularly passionate about your service and have a willing friend to help, you can live stream classes to fill empty windows in your day or even make money on days you are not at your chair. You could teach people how to do things like proper foiling techniques or straight razor shaves, even fancy flower decorations on a French manicure. These classes could be surprisingly quite lucrative because you can fit several more people in a class than you can for the same window at your chair.
The other big advantage Vagaro has over Fresha is the overal layout and the user interface. Fresha has the unfortunate design of a left-side panel instead of a header that uses icons instead of typography. This means every time your cursor even thinks about going to the left side of your screen, that panel will pop out, and this can be downright annoying and disruptive when you are working.
But more annoying are the icons; maybe I’m alone in this, the old grandma sitting in the front lawn yelling at cars for going too fast but their icons are not clear so I don’t know what they mean and despite the fact that I’ve used Fresha for years, I still have to scroll and hover over each icon until the actual words pop up telling me what it means. Such a waste of time.
Vagaro doesn’t have that. In fact, they have a very clean layout that uses a header on top of your screen with simple typography, so you know exactly when you are looking at your marketing section versus your sales section.

Fresha Alternative #5: Boulevard
Best for: Staff management, calendars, client management, and reports / Price: $158-$450
Pros:
- Great onboarding support
- Strong front desk tools
- Smart Scheduling Feature
- Builds better client relationships
Cons:
- Expensive for beginners or solo professionals
- No built-in marketplace
Fresha does have some staff management and reporting tools, but they can feel a bit limited if you are trying to get deeper insight into your day-to-day operations.
If that kind of visibility matters to you, Boulevard if a strong Fresha alternative. Boulevard’s “Front Desk” features give you more control over client mangement, while its calendar tools make staff management easier. The calendar is laid out so all of your staff members are viewable side by side with different colors, which makes it super easy to keep track of what is happening.
Beyond that, there are areas for staff information and controls, including simple things like being able to suspend an account immediately or delete one if you are dealing with staff turnover. This makes it very easy to manage access and keep your business secure.
In the reports section of the Boulevard app, you have so much control over the types of reports that you generate, such as looking at your sales, payments, and staff performance during any given time.
If, for example, you are worried about losing money on Mondays and trying to decide whether you should close your doors that day, you can look at each staff member’s performance every Monday for the last several months and either scale down the number of people you have working on Mondays or close entirely.
Overall, Boulevard gives you so many tools that support your overall internal operations without being unnecessarily complicated.
Tangentially, Boulevard also supports good client management with much the same tools, including sales reports and client profiles that give you an in-depth picture of what services have been booked, when, and by whom.
