- Choosing the Right All-in-One Platform for Your Salon
Last Updated on June 30, 2026 by Ewen Finser
How many different platforms are you juggling in order to book a color appointment, send a rebooking text, check revenue for the month, and order inventory? Chances are, it’s more than one. Some salons are using up to five different tools just to handle standard day-to-day tasks.
As a licensed cosmetologist of 15+ years and a former salon owner, I’ve lived through that exact mess. I can tell you from experience that most of us are paying for half-baked software that’s only managing part of the salon experience and missing features that would make our jobs simpler.
Fortunately, our options have greatly expanded in recent years, and there’s now software that can truly handle the end-to-end running of your salon.
Read on for a deep dive into six leading platforms, from lightweight options built for solo stylists to robust enterprise software that’s built for multi-location scaling.
What to Look for in Salon Management Software

As you evaluate software for your salon, I’d keep an eye out for these three things above most other factors:
- Comprehensiveness: Obviously, you’ll want software that can do everything you need. But it’s also important to see what’s available by default or through a paid add-on. In my opinion, a solid platform shouldn’t be charging extra for marketing campaigns or two-way texting.
- Smart scheduling and AI: This is the factor that’s changed most in recent years. In salon management, some of the best uses of AI include filling calendar gaps and answering client questions — rather than the word “AI” being used as an empty marketing phrase with nothing behind it.
- Pricing: A platform can look affordable until you have to jump up an entire tier just to add a third or fourth stylist to your books.
With that said, let’s dive in!
The Best All-in-One Salon Software: At a Glance

GlossGenius: Best for Solo Stylists
GlossGenius is a salon and spa platform built to give solo stylists a premium, client-facing booking and branding experience without forcing them into complex, team-oriented software.
As of 2026, they’re also rolling out AI agents across every tier! A Growth Analyst digs into your business data and answers questions about performance, while a Marketing Agent drafts your email and text campaigns for you. Standard gets a limited trial of these features, whereas Gold gets 20 queries a month and Platinum gets unlimited access.
GlossGenius also packs a lot into their generous Standard tier: booking, a flat 2.6% payment rate with no hidden fees, email and text marketing campaigns, and inventory and retail tracking so that solo stylists get sales reporting without having to upgrade tiers.
Just know that the texting here works like a one-way marketing blast. You can’t have a true two-way conversation thread the way some other platforms in this list allow you to.
Pricing starts at $28 for the Standard plan (which is built for one provider only). Adding just one more employee moves you to Gold at $56/month, supporting teams under 10. Platinum runs $168/month and gives you unlimited staff calendars.

Pros:
- Flat 2.6% payment processing with no hidden fees
- Beautiful, polished client-facing booking experience
- New AI agents for reporting and marketing available on every tier
Cons:
- Standard tier caps you at one provider
- Resource management and waitlists only available on Gold or higher
- Texting is broadcast-style marketing, not a real two-way client inbox
Best For: Solo stylists who want a premium-feeling booking experience and don’t need to add staff anytime soon.
Vagaro: Best for Small Teams on a Budget
Vagaro is all‑in‑one salon and spa software that stands out for predictable per‑provider pricing and a built‑in marketplace that can drive new client bookings without charging a commission on them.
The newest upgrade is Vagaro AI, which launched in late 2024 and keeps expanding. This is a chatbot that answers client questions automatically through your booking page, as well as helping to draft service descriptions, policies, and marketing copy. However, it isn’t doing anything behind the scenes to maximize revenue, unlike some of the other platforms.
With Vagaro, every tier includes the same features, like booking, point-of-sale, calendar management, email marketing, and a spot on Vagaro’s commission-free client marketplace.
The pricing scales with your team. A single bookable calendar runs $23.99 per month, climbing up to $83.99 per month once you’re at seven or more providers. However, it also has plenty of (paid) add-ons: text marketing, digital forms, and check-in tools are all separate features, around $10–$20/month each. So a salon that wants the full feature set can end up paying noticeably more than the advertised starting price of $23.99.

Pros:
- Marketplace exposure for new client discovery, with no commission on bookings
- Per-provider pricing scales predictably as you grow
- New Vagaro AI drafts content and answers client questions automatically
Cons:
- Text marketing, forms, and check-in all cost extra
- Real monthly cost often climbs past the advertised price
- Interface can feel cluttered compared to newer platforms
Best For: Budget-minded small to mid-size salons that want room to grow without jumping to a pricier all-in-one platform right away. Just be ready to settle for a smaller feature set unless you’re willing to pay a bit more for an add-on.
Fresha: Best for AI Features at a Low Price
Fresha is a low-cost software that pairs simple pricing with a global marketplace and newly added AI tools, making it an easy way to test smart features without committing to a high monthly fee.
It’s not historically been a truly comprehensive solution, but it’s slowly trying to get there. For example, they recently added two-way texting that’s fully integrated into your main Fresha dashboard. However, they don’t offer any way to connect to QuickBooks for payroll, which I feel is a bit behind the times.
Until recently, Fresha had no AI features. But in May of this year, they unveiled quite a few new tools, including a feature called Dynamic Reassignment that automatically shifts flexible bookings in real time, as well as dynamic pricing AI tools that can adjust service costs according to demand — both of which are part of your existing plan at no extra cost.
Fresha is well-loved in the beauty industry thanks to its very simple, straightforward pricing of $19.95/month for the Independent plan, and $14.95/provider/month on the Team plan. However, unlike Vagaro, you’ll pay a one-time 20% commission on new clients who book through the Fresha marketplace.
If you want more, AI Concierge is an optional add-on at $99.95 per month that answers calls and texts, books and reschedules appointments straight into your calendar, and works 24/7 in multiple languages.

Pros:
- Optional AI Concierge gives you a 24/7 AI phone receptionist
- Lowest starting price amongst all platforms listed here
- New Dynamic Reassignment scheduling AI is included at no extra cost
Cons:
- AI Concierge and full team features cost extra on top of the base plan
- Locked into Fresha Pay for payment processing; can’t use Square, etc.
- 20% one-time commission on new marketplace clients
Best For: Budget-conscious solo stylists and small teams who want marketplace visibility and like the idea of testing AI features without paying premium prices for them.
Mangomint: Best for Robust Automation
Mangomint is a modern, automation-first platform designed for growing teams, differentiating itself with intelligent waitlists and workflow automations instead of a traditional AI chatbot.
The intelligent waitlist automatically matches new calendar openings with waitlisted clients, and you can build automated workflows for it as well, like always sending a specific intake form the moment someone books a color service. Mangomint does integrate with third-party AI receptionist tools, but that means managing a separate dashboard and login alongside Mangomint itself, so I wouldn’t count that as a true win.
Booking, POS, payroll, and inventory are all native, and it connects well with tools like QuickBooks if you need something outside the core platform. Two-way texting, though, is still a $75/month add-on called Connect, and there’s no marketplace for new client discovery similar to Vagaro’s or Fresha’s.
Mangomint’s three tiers run $165/month for Essentials (up to 10 providers), $245/month for Standard (up to 20), and $375/month for Unlimited.

Pros:
- Intelligent waitlist and automated workflows feel smart without needing a chatbot
- Booking, POS, payroll, and inventory are all truly native
- Fast, responsive customer support praised across reviews
Cons:
- No native AI assistant, only third-party integrations with a separate login
- Two-way texting still costs $75/month extra
- Not built for solo stylists, and no marketplace for new clients
Best For: Growing teams of two to 20 providers who want a fast, simple software and don’t need a marketplace.
Mindbody: Best for Salons That Also Offer Classes
Mindbody is an enterprise‑style platform built for fitness and wellness businesses, and it’s uniquely suited to salons that also run classes because it handles group schedules and one‑on‑one appointments in the same system.
Their AI offering is Messenger[ai], a front desk assistant that answers missed calls and books appointments by text around the clock. It’s included on Ultimate and available as an add-on with Accelerate. However, it’s not an option for those on the Starter tier.
Like Fresha and Vagaro, you can leverage the Mindbody marketplace for new client bookings. But each one carries a 20% commission, so make sure to factor that into your costs.
Mindbody advertises prices as low as $99/month/location, but I’ve yet to talk to a salon owner who pays that amount. The actual price depends on your location count and feature needs, and you can’t get a quote without going through their sales and demo process. I’ve heard numbers anywhere from $259 to $699 a month.

Pros:
- All tiers give you unlimited users and bookable calendars
- Messenger[ai] catches missed calls and books appointments 24/7
- Handles classes and one-on-one appointments in the same calendar
- Includes a marketplace for client bookings (with a commission)
Cons:
- You have to book a demo and sales call to get real pricing
- The $99 starting price is most likely less than what you’ll be quoted
- Advanced reporting and the AI front desk are reserved for Ultimate
Best For: Hybrid beauty and wellness businesses that mix classes with appointments and don’t mind the price.
Boulevard: Best for Growing and Established Salons
Boulevard is a salon system that sets itself apart by unifying booking, POS, marketing, inventory, and client communication, then layering in practical AI like Precision Scheduling and Billie to actively help run the business. It’s all in one dashboard, with no separate logins required.
In terms of AI, Boulevard has two standout features. Precision Scheduling uses machine learning to study your booking history, service durations, and staff transitions, then recommends the best appointment times to fill gaps and maximize revenue. In addition, its AI assistant lives inside the dashboard to handle questions you have about how to use the software. If it can’t help, it’ll route you to a human support agent.
Just note that Boulevard does not offer a consumer marketplace for new client discovery the way Vagaro, Fresha, or Mindbody do; it focuses on powering your own channels instead.
The vast majority of what you’ll need is included here, but it’s definitely a premium price point. Boulevard’s three tiers run $176/month for Essentials, $293/month for Premier, and $410/month for Prestige. Essentials caps you at five bookable calendars, Premier gives you unlimited calendars and adds group booking plus resource scheduling, and Prestige adds a much larger monthly marketing text and email allotment.

Pros:
- Booking, POS, marketing, and inventory all live in one dashboard
- Precision Scheduling and AI assistant fill gaps and answer questions automatically
- The foundational, must-have features for salons are included, not paid add-ons
Cons:
- Premium pricing with no free trial
- More software than a one- or two-chair solo setup typically needs
- Digital forms and charts are a paid add-on; some salons will need those
Best For: Established salons with four or more providers who want to run booking, payments, marketing, and inventory from one dashboard.
Choosing the Right All-in-One Platform for Your Salon
If you’re solo or just starting to build a team, GlossGenius, Vagaro, or Fresha will get you running without overpaying for features you won’t touch yet. If you’re managing a growing team that’s outgrown simpler tools, Mangomint offers a few more in-depth features that don’t require you and your staff to be tech wizards. If your business mixes classes with appointments, Mindbody is definitely what I would recommend you look into first.
But in the lens of thoroughness, Boulevard wins as the most comprehensive all-in-one salon software available right now; it’s the only one here that lets you run booking, POS, marketing, inventory, and client communications all through the same unified dashboard.
As you make your decision, think about not just which platform will best fit your salon today, but which one will give you a little room to grow as well. The last thing you want is to be making this decision all over again in 2027!
