iSolved Talent Acquisition, formerly known as ApplicantPro, is a great all-around applicant tracking system that’s best suited for in-house HR recruitment teams or organizations that need an integrated human capital management system. If you’re on the search for a more modern ATS for more advanced recruitment needs, such as AI automations or CRM capabilities, check out our suggested list below of alternatives.
TL;DR:
When searching for an alternative to iSolved Talent Acquisition’s ATS, here are my go-to picks and what their main selling point is.
- Workable – Best modern plug-and-play alternative
- Zoho Recruit – Best alternative for AI-assisted features
- Ninja Gig – Best cost-friendly, all-inclusive alternative
- Recruit CRM – Best combined CRM & ATS for agencies or staffing companies
- Greenhouse – Best alternative for enterprise organizations needing a full-featured ATS & HR tool
What is ApplicantPro/iSolved Talent Acquisition?
iSolved Talent Acquisition, formerly known as “ApplicantPro,” offers full-service hiring, recruitment marketing, and an applicant tracking system in one.
I’ll be comparing iSolved’s ATS to similar platforms I’ve used and those I recommend for those looking for alternatives. For the purpose of this review, we’ll dive into the ATS platform features and functions only to give a better view of similarities and differences compared to other ATSs.
iSolved ATS standout features:
Job board & social media integrations:
iSolved’s ATS has excellent job board integrations with over 6,000+ job boards, including popular options such as Indeed, Facebook, Monster, Google Jobs, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, and many more.
A great ATS should have options to integrate with both free and paid-for platforms seamlessly. I also like that they offer a “quick apply” functionality, which helps promote a positive candidate application experience.
Automated applicant screening & assessments:
A great ATS should always have an easy way to help recruiters and hiring managers filter out top candidates easily. A good applicant screening process is critical to this process.
iSolved’s ATS allows you to auto-disqualify unsuitable candidates based on knock-out questions, which is a great time saver.
iSolved also offers integrated pre-hire assessments, which can help you make sure you’re making the right hire for your organization.
Collaboration features:
I like tools that have permission-level user roles. This makes it easy to split out multiple views and keep certain functions or information ringfenced. iSolved ATS offers five permission levels, which can be configured depending on your needs.
Ranking and reviewing candidates is a great value add, with automated ranking based on reviews, you can collate hiring manager feedback and notes easily in one place.
Candidate communication via email or text can be handled from within the tool, ensuring you’re receiving and sending feedback quickly and that it’s stored in one central location. Two-way communication is a great time saver when providing feedback. This way, you can ensure key information is accurately retained for record-keeping purposes and that other team members can access this too.
HR functions:
iSolved’s ATS can also manage more involved HR functions, including onboarding, offer letters, payroll, benefits enrollment, and much more.
Additional features:
Candidate interviews, reference checks, preconfigured reporting, candidate careers site, AI candidate matching, and more.
Why look for an alternative?
- Not all HRIS platforms integrate with iSolved’s ATS, and this can become a stumbling block for certain organizations or small businesses that rely on a seamless integration experience.
- The user interface feels outdated and clunky, which can be off-putting for users who prefer a sleek and modern feel.
- If you’re needing a simple, standalone ATS, iSolved’s ATS can be a bit more complex and less intuitive than other simpler, more cost-effective solutions.
Here are my top alternatives and how they compare to iSolved Talent Acquisition
There are several tools out there that may be a great alternative to iSolved’s ATS. The best fit will come down to the problem you’re trying to solve, your organization size, and why you may be looking for an alternate ATS. The list below was carefully put together based on the features that may be lacking in iSolved’s ATS.
1. Workable – Best modern plug-and-play alternative
If your team is looking for a plug-and-play type of ATS, Workable may be a far better alternative compared to iSolved’s ATS.
Workable standout features in comparison:
Easy to set up and demo:
You can set up a free trial on Workable within a few minutes and get a good feel for how easy the platform is to use. They offer an option to populate your demo account with sample data, which I love! In comparison, iSolved ATS is far more rigid, and they don’t offer a free trial.
Beautiful, modern, and clean interface:
Right from the start, Workable’s interface makes it easy to view all activities on your homepage. You can view scheduled tasks, reminders, and important updates such as upcoming time off and leave balances, all on your personalized dashboard.
In contrast, iSolved’s dashboard feels outdated and unengaging.
Easy to view candidate application history: One of the best features I’ve seen is the fact that you can quickly and easily see if a candidate has applied to multiple jobs you’ve posted across different channels. Viewing candidate activity such as application history is not as easy to track on iSolved.
Unfortunately, Workable’s pricing isn’t transparent, and available upon request only.
2. Zoho Recruit – Best alternative for AI-assisted features
Zoho Recruit is easy to set up and is a straightforward, user-friendly alternative to iSolved’s ATS. Like iSolved, Zoho is best suited for SMBs that need an easy-to-implement platform.
It has some great integrations, and it offers customizations, which are ideal for organizations that need to tailor the platform to their requirements.
Zoho Recruit’s standout features in comparison:
Customizable workflows:
Zoho Recruit has great customizations available, and you can set these up according to workflow rules or tasks, which helps you save time when needing to manage candidates. In comparison, this is something that is lacking with iSolved, so if having a hiring pipeline with automations that is appealing to you, have a look at Zoho.
Powerful AI assistance:
Where iSolved AI capabilities are somewhat limited, Zoho has strong AI tools, including an AI-assistant that helps you source candidates, map behavioral assessments, and populate data, and offer candidate and resume matching. The AI chatbot can interact with candidates, creating an engaging way to help candidates register on your careers site and keep track of the application process from application through to assessments.
The automated matching also assists in removing bias when it comes to shortlisting candidates.
Flexible and free pricing plans:
Zoho Recruit has multiple pricing tiers, including a “forever” free plan for organizations with limited hiring needs. In comparison, iSolved does not offer a free plan and has no free trial available.
The paid-for plans start at $21/user per month and range up to $63/user per month, with discounted pricing available for annual commitments.
3. Ninja Gig – Best cost-friendly, all-inclusive alternative
Ninja Gig is an ultra-lightweight tool that delivers all the basics you need at a super affordable cost compared to multiple other ATSs, including iSolved’s ATS.
It’s quick to set up and they have great integrations with popular job boards like Ziprecruiter, Google Jobs, Indeed and more.
Ninja-Gig’s standout features in comparison:
Easy to set up and lightweight solution:
Unlike iSolved’s ATS, Ninja Gig is a very lightweight solution that doesn’t take extensive upskilling or training. A short learning curve and an easy-to-navigate interface make Ninja Gig a great option for businesses that can’t afford to lose time with lengthy and complex implementation. iSolved, on the other hand, has excellent features, including extensive customization, but this takes time to configure and is not as straightforward.
Ideal for bulk recruitment and budget-friendly:
Ninja Gig’s beauty lies in its simplicity and ease of job posting, making it a great tool for bulk or even agency recruitment. You can easily template job adverts and distribute them to several syndicated job boards with ease.
If you have lean teams that have demanding hiring needs, you can easily post jobs and allow unlimited applications without worrying about skyrocketing costs, unlike other tools like iSolved’s ATS, which charges per location.
Budget-friendly and transparent pricing plans:
Ninja Gig has a flat fee, which is all-inclusive. At just $49 per month, it’s a great, cost-friendly option for businesses of various sizes. In comparison, iSolved does not offer transparent pricing plans, and you’ll need to contact them for a quote, which differs depending on your organization’s size and needs.
Unlike iSolved ATS, Ninja Gig offers a great 14-day free trial, and you are able to pause or cancel at any time.
4. Recruit CRM – Best alternative for agency recruitment.
RecruitCRM (as the name suggests) is an all-in-one ATS and recruitment platform that helps easily manage both clients and candidates in one tool.
Unlike other ATS tools such as iSolved, RecruitCRM is explicitly built with agencies in mind and fully customized for this specific purpose.
RecruitCRM standout features in comparison:
Built-in CRM and candidate management:
Agencies and staffing organizations need to ensure that candidate and client data are centralized for ease of access and that key information is safely stored in a secure location. Data compliance is critical, and therefore, having a way to maintain candidate information while allowing collaboration is essential.
Unlike iSolved’s ATS, RecruitCRM is built with agencies in mind, and they’ve created a great platform that is easy to use and allows client and candidate management.
You can submit candidates directly to clients from the platform, meaning that you improve collaboration and decrease the need for disparate systems.
Resume parsing and AI features:
Although iSolved’s ATS has resume parsing, it’s not as advanced as RecruitCRM’s features and seems to have mixed reviews when it comes to accuracy.
I like that RecruitCRM has AI resume parsing, which has improved the accuracy of the data extracted, compared to other ATSs that rely on keyword matching.
Invoicing features
RecruitCRM allows you to send invoices from the platform to clients, which is an excellent value-add for organizations that need to manage invoicing, candidate, and client management from within one tool. iSolved’s ATS is lacking in managing advanced capabilities like this.
Pricing plans:
Pricing starts around $69/month and can range up to $149/month or more, depending on your organization’s size and needs.
They offer discounted rates for annual commitments.
5. Greenhouse – Best alternative for enterprise organizations needing a full-featured ATS & HR tool
Greenhouse is a more full-featured platform that is best suited for companies that need a more feature-rich, enterprise-level platform compared to iSolved’s ATS.
Greenhouse standout features in comparison:
Highly customizable and scalable workflows:
It can take some time to get things up and running, but once configured according to your needs, Greenhouse’s workflows can be really powerful. I like tools that can decrease the administrative overhead of managing repetitive tasks and creating reminders for your teams. You can also set up permission-level defined roles and workflows to ensure that you have the control you need for larger teams.
I didn’t find this kind of advanced automation within iSolved’s ATS, so if you have more complex hiring needs, Greenhouse may be a better fit.
Interview scorecards and kits:
Unlike iSolved’s ATS, Greenhouse has a great range of features when it comes to creating fair and transparent interview processes, which can be a significant value-add for organizations that have diversity and inclusion goals.
You can create standardized processes and pre-defined criteria for specific vacancies to ensure that you’re surfacing qualified candidates reasonably and efficiently.
Once you have your criteria outlined, you’ll be able to base your evaluations and scorecards against these standards. Another great feature that is lacking in some other ATSs is that you can create interview kits to help keep your team aligned to a standardized set of queries.
Pricing:
Pricing is only available upon request.
In summary, with such a diverse range of ATSs out there, it can be tricky to choose the right alternative. I always give preference to software platforms that offer a free trial, which can give you a good idea of the look and feel of the tool before you make a choice.
Ultimately, the best option will depend on what standout features are essential for your business and who your users will be. Also take into account pricing, flexibility, and how user-friendly the system is for your team, your hiring managers, and even your candidates.
