If you’re an affiliate marketer, you’re probably always on the lookout for tools to help you save time and boost sales.

Affiliate marketing can take over your life if you’re not careful, as there’s always something you can be doing to attract more sales.

That’s why there are so many tools in this industry. Any software that claims to do the heavy lifting for you is likely to catch your attention.

The problem is: there are so many tools out there, and some aren’t anywhere near as effective as others.

Geniuslink and Amazon OneLink are two popular tools frequently recommended to the affiliate marketing community.

I’ve downloaded both of these tools and tested the key features to give you a detailed verdict on which is likely to prove the most useful.

The Bottom Line

Amazon OneLink is free to use, but it only serves one real purpose. Its purpose is to direct online customers to the correct Amazon store for their country.

GeniusLink offers the same feature plus a host of other shortcuts that benefit affiliate marketers, albeit for a small monthly fee.

Geniuslink and Amazon OneLink are both tools that help with your affiliate marketing efforts, but there are several key differences to be aware of.

The main differences between Geniuslink and Amazon OneLink are:

  • Geniuslink has several features, whereas Amazon OneLink only exists to direct customers to the correct Amazon store for their country.
  • Geniuslink is compatible with many online stores, whereas Amazon OneLink only works with Amazon links.
  • Geniuslink helps users find affiliate deals with higher commissions, whereas Amazon OneLink does not.
  • Geniuslink links offer a 14-day cookie window, whereas Amazon OneLink links offer a 24-hour window.
  • Geniuslink has a monthly fee, whereas Amazon OneLink is free.

Increase Commissions With Access to Amazon’s Seller Networks

Geniuslink makes it simple to increase your affiliate revenue by tapping into Amazon’s broader network of third-party sellers.

These seller networks, including Maverick X, Levanta and Archer Affiliates, can offer commission up to 17x higher than what you’d earn through Amazon’s own affiliate program.

Instead of hunting for better deals on these networks manually, Geniuslink detects when there’s a deal on a product you’re promoting, allowing you to automatically monetise your affiliate sales in the most profitable manner.

Diversify and Increase Sales with Choice Pages

Geniuslink allows you to create a landing page that links to your affiliate product in several online stores.

This ‘Choice Page’ would give the customer a choice of where to buy the product.

Many customers have favorite stores for online shopping, where they’d prefer to buy products. I like to shop on Amazon because I have Prime membership, but others might prefer to use Best Buy, for example.

Anyway, it’s smart to give customers a choice of online stores after they’ve clicked your affiliate link. Doing so makes them 220% more likely to complete a purchase, according to Geniuslink research.

Connect to the Perfect Selling Point with Genius Linking System

Geniuslink links connect to smartphone apps and localised online stores when necessary.

For example, if a blog reader in Rome clicked one of your Amazon affiliate links, the tool would know to take them to the Italian store. If someone else in San Diego clicked the same link, they’d be taken to Amazon US.

Plus, if either of these readers had the Amazon app on their smartphone, they’d be redirected to buy the product on that app. This smooth customer experience helps to turn more clicks into sales.

During my time testing the product with a VPN, I found that Geniuslink nearly always took me to the perfect page whether I was trying to buy from France, Germany, the United States or elsewhere.

Geniuslink allows you to create shortened links with a custom domain or a vanity URL. This is useful for adding links on YouTube or social media platforms, where you can’t create a link with anchor text.

All Geniuslink links have a 14-day cookie window, giving the customer more time to make a purchase that delivers a commission. This is great because I always like to think for a couple of days before making an online purchase. Now, if someone does that after clicking one of my affiliate links, I still get paid.

Geniuslink can also legally ‘cloak’ Amazon links, which other similar tools don’t have the right to do.

Geniuslink allows you to add tracking pixels to each of your links, providing the foundations to create custom audiences for retargeting.

This handy feature allows you to track and retarget leads even if they haven’t previously visited your website.

That’s great for people who post links on their YouTube channel or a social media page, rather than their own blog. That’s what I do and now I can retarget anyone who clicks these links.

Remember, they have 14 days to complete a purchase after clicking your link. So, it can be advantageous to retarget those who click a link but didn’t buy immediately.

Dive Deep With Extensive Analytical Tools

Geniuslink analytics systems allow you to study what’s working well and what needs tweaking in your affiliate marketing strategy.

It includes all the basic stats such as how many clicks your links are generating, but you can also discover useful demographic information about your audience, such as their location and operation system.

What’s more, you can add custom UTM tags to your links for even deeper observations.

Small Creators can Save Big Money with Click-Based Pricing

Geniuslink’s pricing structure is based on click volume.

You’ll pay

  • $6/month for your first 2,000 clicks
  • $2.50 for every additional 1,000 clicks

That means 10,000 clicks will cost you $25 a month, while 100,000 clicks will set you back $128.50.

For smaller creators like me, this pricing model is ideal. It means you only pay for the traffic you generate. Provided you have a half-decent conversion rate, your commissions should always surpass your monthly Geniuslink fee with this structure.

There’s no tiered pricing structure keeping the best features reserved for premium users. All of Premiumlink’s features are available to all users.

Plus, there’s a14-day free trialavailable, so you can test all these features out risk-free.

Pros

  • Intelligent links boost your affiliate conversions
  • Seamless integration with the most profitable seller networks
  • Built-in tracking pixels allow for easy retargeting
  • Custom UTM tags for detailed analytics
  • Click-based pricing system that’s highly affordable for beginners
  • There’s a 14-day free trial

Cons

  • There are no features to improve the aesthetic of affiliate blogs
  • There’s no tool to recommend new affiliate products
  • Users with a large audience will face high monthly fees (although their commissions should comfortably cover the cost)
amazon one link

Amazon OneLink is a free tool offered to users of Amazon’s affiliate program, Amazon Associates.

It creates localised links to Amazon products, so that readers are always directed to the correct store, whether that’s Amazon UK for customers in London, Amazon France for those in Paris, and so on.

It works well, although you’ll only be given a 24-hour cookie window for purchases to earn commissions.

Easily Sign Up For Overseas Amazon Associates Accounts

To make money from Amazon.co.uk, you’ll need to sign up for an Amazon Associates account there. It’s the same with Amazon.ca and every other international variant.

Thankfully, Amazon OneLink makes it easier for you to sign up for multiple accounts in different countries. It can still be a lengthy process though.

Amazon OneLink will scan your website for Amazon affiliate links and update them all with new intelligent universal links, saving you from having to update each old link manually.

You’ll have to manually update links on YouTube and your social media platforms though.

Pros

  • It’s free to use, no matter how many people click your links
  • It directs customers to the correct Amazon page for their country
  • Pricing is displayed in the correct currency

Cons

  • There is only one feature
  • It only works for Amazon products
  • You’re only given a 24-hour cookie window

AAWP

Amazon Affiliates WordPress Plugin (AAWP) helps WordPress bloggers create eye-catching product displays on their website. These can be used to drive more clicks and hopefully more conversions for your affiliate products. You’ll pay $89 per year (plus tax) to use it on one website.

Afillimate

Afillimate offers deep analytical data for affiliate bloggers and a series of useful link management tools. There are separate pricing plans offered to individual creators and corporations.

Lasso

Lasso creates attractive tables for you to advertise affiliate products on a WordPress blog. On top of that, it offers approved affiliate deals with its Affiliate+ program.

It will also recommend new affiliate products for you to market, based on the topic of your blog posts. It costs $24 per month for a Pro account with all features.

Geniuslink and Amazon OneLink are both tools for affiliate marketers, but one is more useful than the other.

At first glance, it would seem like a no-brainer to use Amazon OneLink, seeing as it’s a free tool that performs a useful function.

However, Geniuslink also creates intelligent links that direct people to the correct Amazon store for their country. The company claims it does this more accurately than Amazon OneLink, although both tools performed well during my tests.

With that said, Geniuslink has many more useful features that will aid your experience as an affiliate marketer. Its ability to seek out higher-paying affiliate deals will save you so much time and make you so much money on its own.

Plus, the click-based payment structure ensures that Geniuslink will nearly always be worth the money.

To summarise:

  • If you’re only interested in creating universal Amazon affiliate links, Amazon OneLink will help you do that for free.
  • If you’re ready to take affiliate marketing seriously and don’t mind shelling out a few bucks, Geniuslink will serve as an incredibly useful tool.
